Hoštice is a municipality in the Czech Republic, idyllically situated at the foot of the Marsgebirge mountains in the Littentschitzer Bergland region. First mentioned in 1141, the castle and church were built here in the 17th century under the rule of the Žalkovský family. Hoštice flourished particularly in the 19th century thanks to innovative agriculture and sheep breeding. It is also interesting to note that a German general was captured by Czech partisans here in 1945. Since 1990, Hoštice has once again been an independent municipality.Wikipedia
