Studenec is a picturesque village located east of Třebíč with a rich history dating back to 1104. It has a population of around 625. The village won the "Village of Vysočina" award in 2007. Nearby is an important railway station on the Brno–Jihlava line and the settlement of Zelená Hospoda.
