The Pardubický kraj region is located in eastern Bohemia and partially in the historical territory of Moravia, covering an area of rolling hills and highlands. It is home to over 530,000 inhabitants. The region is known for its industry, particularly engineering and chemical production, including the manufacture of Semtex, but tourism is also developing. Important transport corridors run through the region, including the Praha – Česká Třebová railway line.
